What services are available on site? Can a generator be used?
No water or power is available on site. All litter must be collected and removed by the promoter; we may request that waste bins are provided in conjunction with sampling activity. Generators are permitted on site but must be diesel and ultra-silent, no petrol generators are permitted.
Are vehicles allowed on site?
Only specific promotional vehicles are permitted to remain on site - these will be confirmed in your approval letter. All other vehicles used for staff or equipment transport must be removed from site promptly after set up, taking note of the vehicle movement restricted times (no movement permitted between 9.00 am and 5.30pm).
Where can I park my vehicle?

What are access hours for vehicles to the site and set up times?
There is no vehicle access at Grainger Street, Northumberland Street North or Northumberland Street South between 9.00am and 5.30pm.
All non-approved vehicles must be removed from site outside of these hours and immediately after set up. Overnight construction/access can be arranged subject to detailed plans and approvals – please contact the team to discuss.
Is leafleting permitted?
Yes, a distribution of free literature licence must be obtained from Newcastle City Council in order to hand out any promotional material to the general public. Charities are exempt from this requirement. Please see link below for application details.

What are the restrictions on promotions?
No promotion of alcohol, tobacco or vaping products are permitted under any circumstances. The promotion of nicotine replacement products are also not permitted on site, unless for an official NHS campaign. No offensive material can be used. We reserve the right to refuse any promotion that is deemed unsuitable.
What structures are permitted on site?
Structures are permitted on site, subject to safety assessment. The promoter will be required to provide detailed technical information to confirm the structure is appropriate for the site. If gazebos are to be used then verified wind tolerance and ballast requirements must be provided and adhered to on site.
